Reading black print on a white background can be a source of visual stress for a child with dyslexia. There are a number of ways to counteract the glare from white paper such as glasses with coloured lenses, overlays or in this case a reading ruler.
Some children enjoy reading and others refuse to read. Reading is an excellent skill to build vocabulary, knowledge, imagination and sequencing. Reading can improve spelling and grammar and build up confidence in the child who enjoys picking up a book for pleasure.
